About the Growing Christian
Adventure, change and growth define the Christian experience. God’s children grow from faith to faith, here a little, there a little, from spiritual milk to spiritual meat. Through life’s daily events and struggles, we learn about Jesus and how He responds to us and how we need to respond to Him. We learn more and more how He thinks and acts. We see the promises of His Word come alive in our lives. We experience His conviction and correction, His love and acceptance, His healing and provision, His sweet presence and loving kindness. If we are paying attention and actively learning, over time, we become more like Him. Our lives transform. People see Jesus in us. This is the fruit of being His disciple.
The Growing Christian is dedicated to help Christians become disciples of Jesus Christ. The site contains lessons, testimonials, devotions, recommended reading and viewing links on a wide variety of life topics and Christian application for all ages. The goal is to help Christian people become rooted and grounded in Jesus Christ, firmly anchored, so the winds of change, deceitfulness of the enemy and adversity do not lead them astray, tossing them to and fro and they lose their way. The anchor that holds the Christian is their love for Jesus Christ, the truth.
The greatest commandment God ever gave to mankind is found in Matthew 22:36-40 NLT…
John 14:21 New Living Translation (NLT)
Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.”
John 15:10 KJV
When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.
The Growing Christian’s goal is to make the Word of God simple so all can grow in their relationship with Jesus. God asked in Amos 3:3 NLT, “Can two walk together unless they agree on the direction?” To grow in Jesus Christ is to learn to agree with Him and walk together with Him. We must learn and change. He remains forever the same.
